TIC TAC STARTS AS A SCHOOL PROJECT.
With the initial idea to develop an entirely animation work, a student decides to explore the world of animation without any knowledge about it. A pencil. Some paper. She starts to draw whatever she thinks of, wanting to create a new world out of her imagination.

First of all, the characters.
CHARACTER
DESIGN
Her name's Ella, and she'll be the protagonist in the movie. She's brave, curious, creative and loves striped socks. As the development of the design continues, Ella gets two pigtails and a tank top.
ENVIRONMENTAL DESIGN
I create a strange world, filled with the most colourful creatures I can imagine. There's also some designs of houses, I've never used in the final result.
ANIMATION PROCESS
(July-November) The program used is Blender, a 3D animation software. I take every layer in every image and I put it in front of the camera. From there I make every of them move with different speeds, creating a parallax effect.
First of all, I started planing all of it by drawing the first storyboard. Then there was a second one, and a third one.

The last storyboard is the one used. Some of the scenes were deleted, and the order of the images isn't the right one.
The program used to paint all the 45 images was GIMP, (similar to Photoshop but free), and I colour the final images with it before exporting every layer inside the scene. I use a different colour palette in every scene: blue with brown, green with brown, purple with yellow, red with yellow... I always do a previous sketch before start.
Here are some of the first painted cuts I made. I discarted them after changing the style and the interior and enviromental design of the movie.
